Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner

Remember those French Fried Onions I mentioned just yesterday? They became part of our dinner today. Have you ever had Crunchy Onion Chicken? It's delicious! Here's the recipe:

Crunchy Onion Chicken
2 cups French Fried Onions
2 tbsp.all-purpose flour
4 boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into strips
1 egg, beaten 

Place French Fried Onions and flour into plastic bag. Lightly crush with hands or with rolling pin. Transfer to pie plate or waxed paper. Dip chicken into egg; then coat with onion crumbs, pressing firmly to adhere. Place chicken on baking sheet. Bake at 400°F for 20 min. or until no longer pink in center.

Break-down of the cost of our dinner:
Chicken: $1.50
French Fried Onions (4 oz.) $1.25
Mixed Veggies: 59 cents
White Rice: (Box is $1.29) 50 cents
Total cost for meal: $3.84
